In this post am providing a step by step easy guild on CSC Orion 18 installation

CSC Orion is a Computer Aided Design Software, which allows you to design simple or complex reinforced concrete buildings. Csc orion works with real physical objects such as slabs, columns and beams

Features of CSC Orion 18

  1. Design simple or complex reinforced concrete buildings with speed and ease
  2. Work with real physical objects such as beams, columns and slabs
  3. Choose from a range of international codes including British Standards and Eurocodes Save time with features such as automated FE and frame analysis
  4. Quickly assess design alternatives to establish the most cost-effective solution
  5. Produce clear and concise documentation, including drawings and quantities
  6. Handle project changes easily and efficiently
  7. Synchronise with leading BIM platforms such as Autodesk® Revit®

CSC Orion Installation

Here are simple steps on how to install csc orion 18.

  • Step 1: Download CSC ORION 18 from csc orion free download
  • Step 2: Unrar (unzip) and install the application, by running the setup file.
  • Step 3: After installation of csc orion 18
  • Step 4: Open the downloaded folder---open 'licence'----then copy 'Local.csclicdb'
  • Step 5: Now go to your computer and open this file location C:\ProgramData\CSC\Licensing\
  •  Step 6: Finally paste the copied file i.e 'Local.csclicdb' in it
Thats all!!!!

Risk analysis in Engineering

Our previous article was on risk analysis and its definitions, in this article we will be discussing about Risk Analysis In Engineering

Risk Analysis In Engineering

Risk analysis is the science of risks and their probability and evaluation. In science and engineering, Probabilistic risk assessment is one analysis strategy usually employed in risk analysis

Risk analysis and the risk workshop

Risk analysis ought to be performed as part of the risk management process in every project . The data will be based on risk discussion workshops to point out potential issues and risks before it occur before these were to pose cost and/ or schedule negative impacts The risk workshops have to be attended by a large group perfectly between 6 to 10 individuals from the various departmental functions (e.g. project manager, site superintendent, construction manager, and representatives from procurement, operations, [project] controls, etc.) in order to cover every risk element from different perspectives.

Importance of Risk Analysis and Risk Management

The importance of risk analysis would be the creation or review of the risk register to identify and quantify risk elements to the project and their potential impact. Given that risk management is a continuous and iterative process, the risk workshop members would regroup on at regular intervals and project milestones to review the risk register mitigation plans, make changes to it as appropriate and following those changes re- run the risk model. In conclusion, consistently monitoring of risks, it will be successfully mitigated resulting in a cost and schedule savings with a positive impact on the project.

Risk analysis

In my previous article i defined risk engineering and some carer opportunity associated with risk engineering and safety management. In this article we are going to discuss on risk analysis

Risk analysis can be defined in different perspective base on how risk analysis relates to other concepts. It may be "broadly defined to include risk assessment , risk characterization, risk communication, risk management , and policy relating to risk, in the context of risks of concern to individuals, to public- and private- sector organizations, and to society at a local, regional, national, or global level." Is better to divide risk analysis into two components: (a) risk assessment (identifying, evaluating, and measuring the probability and severity of risks) and (b) risk management. some authors define risk management as the overarching concept, where risk analysis is the component that seeks to identify and measure the risks and risk mitigation is determining what to do about the risks. Risk analysis can be qualitative or quantitative.

Quantitative risk analysis

Quantitative risk analysis seeks to numerically assess probabilities for the potential consequences of risk, and is often called probabilistic risk analysis or probabilistic risk assessment (PRA)

Pseudo-quantitative risk assessment

This generally assign numbers to the likelihood and consequences for a risk but do not build a mathematical model of the risk as suggested by PRA.

Risk Engineering Analysis

In our next article we may review on Risk analysis in engineering
